إِن تُبدوا خَيرًا أَو تُخفوهُ أَو تَعفوا عَن سوءٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كانَ عَفُوًّا قَديرًا١٤٩
If [instead] you show [some] good or conceal it or pardon an offense - indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Competent
إِلَّا الَّذينَ تابوا مِن قَبلِ أَن تَقدِروا عَلَيهِم ۖ فَاعلَموا أَنَّ اللَّهَ غَفورٌ رَحيمٌ٣٤
Except for those who return [repenting] before you apprehend them. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Merciful
إِن تُعَذِّبهُم فَإِنَّهُم عِبادُكَ ۖ وَإِن تَغفِر لَهُم فَإِنَّكَ أَنتَ العَزيزُ الحَكيمُ١١٨
If You should punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise
وَما كانَ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُم وَأَنتَ فيهِم ۚ وَما كانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُم وَهُم يَستَغفِرونَ٣٣
But Allah would not punish them while you, [O Muhammad], are among them, and Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness
يوسُفُ أَعرِض عَن هٰذا ۚ وَاستَغفِرى لِذَنبِكِ ۖ إِنَّكِ كُنتِ مِنَ الخاطِـٔينَ٢٩
Joseph, ignore this. And, [my wife], ask forgiveness for your sin. Indeed, you were of the sinful
قالوا يٰأَبانَا استَغفِر لَنا ذُنوبَنا إِنّا كُنّا خٰطِـٔينَ٩٧
They said, "O our father, ask for us forgiveness of our sins; indeed, we have been sinners
قالَ سَوفَ أَستَغفِرُ لَكُم رَبّى ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفورُ الرَّحيمُ٩٨
He said, "I will ask forgiveness for you from my Lord. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful
وَما خَلَقنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما إِلّا بِالحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ السّاعَةَ لَءاتِيَةٌ ۖ فَاصفَحِ الصَّفحَ الجَميلَ٨٥
And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness
قالَ سَلٰمٌ عَلَيكَ ۖ سَأَستَغفِرُ لَكَ رَبّى ۖ إِنَّهُ كانَ بى حَفِيًّا٤٧
[Abraham] said, "Peace will be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me
إِلّا مَن تابَ وَءامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صٰلِحًا فَأُولٰئِكَ يَدخُلونَ الجَنَّةَ وَلا يُظلَمونَ شَيـًٔا٦٠
Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all
