Quran verses and Hadith for a grieving heart — comfort, hope, and strength when you are going through a hard time.
إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا٦
With hardship comes ease.
Indeed, great reward comes with great trial. When Allah loves a people, He tests them.
The believers, in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy, are like one body — when one part of it suffers, the whole body responds with wakefulness and fever.
لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ٨٧
There is no deity except You; Exalted are You. Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers.
قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ٨٦
He said, 'I only complain of my suffering and grief to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you do not know.'
مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ٣
Your Lord has not taken leave of you, nor has He detested you.
وَلا يَحزُنكَ قَولُهُم ۘ إِنَّ العِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَميعًا ۚ هُوَ السَّميعُ العَليمُ٦٥
And let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, honor [due to power] belongs to Allah entirely. He is the Hearing, the Knowing
قالَ وَمَن يَقنَطُ مِن رَحمَةِ رَبِّهِ إِلَّا الضّالّونَ٥٦
He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray
وَهُوَ الَّذى يُنَزِّلُ الغَيثَ مِن بَعدِ ما قَنَطوا وَيَنشُرُ رَحمَتَهُ ۚ وَهُوَ الوَلِىُّ الحَميدُ٢٨
And it is He who sends down the rain after they had despaired and spreads His mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy
وَاصبِر وَما صَبرُكَ إِلّا بِاللَّهِ ۚ وَلا تَحزَن عَلَيهِم وَلا تَكُ فى ضَيقٍ مِمّا يَمكُرونَ١٢٧
And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire
