قالَ رَبِّ اغفِر لى وَهَب لى مُلكًا لا يَنبَغى لِأَحَدٍ مِن بَعدى ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الوَهّابُ٣٥
He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower
وَقالَ موسىٰ إِنّى عُذتُ بِرَبّى وَرَبِّكُم مِن كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّرٍ لا يُؤمِنُ بِيَومِ الحِسابِ٢٧
But Moses said, "Indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Account
وَإِنّى عُذتُ بِرَبّى وَرَبِّكُم أَن تَرجُمونِ٢٠
And indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me
لَهُ دَعوَةُ الحَقِّ ۖ وَالَّذينَ يَدعونَ مِن دونِهِ لا يَستَجيبونَ لَهُم بِشَيءٍ إِلّا كَبٰسِطِ كَفَّيهِ إِلَى الماءِ لِيَبلُغَ فاهُ وَما هُوَ بِبٰلِغِهِ ۚ وَما دُعاءُ الكٰفِرينَ إِلّا فى ضَلٰلٍ١٤
To Him [alone] is the supplication of truth. And those they call upon besides Him do not respond to them with a thing, except as one who stretches his hands toward water [from afar, calling it] to reach his mouth, but it will not reach it [thus]. And the supplication of the disbelievers is not but in error [i.e. futility]
قالَ رَبِّ إِنّى وَهَنَ العَظمُ مِنّى وَاشتَعَلَ الرَّأسُ شَيبًا وَلَم أَكُن بِدُعائِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا٤
He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy
وَأَعوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحضُرونِ٩٨
And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me
قُل ما يَعبَؤُا۟ بِكُم رَبّى لَولا دُعاؤُكُم ۖ فَقَد كَذَّبتُم فَسَوفَ يَكونُ لِزامًا٧٧
Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have denied, so your denial is going to be adherent
رَبَّنا وَءاتِنا ما وَعَدتَنا عَلىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلا تُخزِنا يَومَ القِيٰمَةِ ۗ إِنَّكَ لا تُخلِفُ الميعادَ١٩٤
Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise
ادعوا رَبَّكُم تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفيَةً ۚ إِنَّهُ لا يُحِبُّ المُعتَدينَ٥٥
Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors
قالَ رَبِّ اغفِر لى وَلِأَخى وَأَدخِلنا فى رَحمَتِكَ ۖ وَأَنتَ أَرحَمُ الرّٰحِمينَ١٥١
[Moses] said, "My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful
