رَبَّنا إِنّى أَسكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتى بِوادٍ غَيرِ ذى زَرعٍ عِندَ بَيتِكَ المُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنا لِيُقيمُوا الصَّلوٰةَ فَاجعَل أَفـِٔدَةً مِنَ النّاسِ تَهوى إِلَيهِم وَارزُقهُم مِنَ الثَّمَرٰتِ لَعَلَّهُم يَشكُرونَ٣٧
Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful
قالَ رَبِّ اجعَل لى ءايَةً ۖ قالَ ءايَتُكَ أَلّا تُكَلِّمَ النّاسَ ثَلٰثَةَ أَيّامٍ إِلّا رَمزًا ۗ وَاذكُر رَبَّكَ كَثيرًا وَسَبِّح بِالعَشِىِّ وَالإِبكٰرِ٤١
He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He Said, "Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the morning
وَلا تَطرُدِ الَّذينَ يَدعونَ رَبَّهُم بِالغَدوٰةِ وَالعَشِىِّ يُريدونَ وَجهَهُ ۖ ما عَلَيكَ مِن حِسابِهِم مِن شَيءٍ وَما مِن حِسابِكَ عَلَيهِم مِن شَيءٍ فَتَطرُدَهُم فَتَكونَ مِنَ الظّٰلِمينَ٥٢
And do not send away those who call upon their Lord morning and afternoon, seeking His countenance. Not upon you is anything of their account and not upon them is anything of your account. So were you to send them away, you would [then] be of the wrongdoers
قُل مَن يُنَجّيكُم مِن ظُلُمٰتِ البَرِّ وَالبَحرِ تَدعونَهُ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفيَةً لَئِن أَنجىٰنا مِن هٰذِهِ لَنَكونَنَّ مِنَ الشّٰكِرينَ٦٣
Say, "Who rescues you from the darknesses of the land and sea [when] you call upon Him imploring [aloud] and privately, 'If He should save us from this [crisis], we will surely be among the thankful
قُل أَمَرَ رَبّى بِالقِسطِ ۖ وَأَقيموا وُجوهَكُم عِندَ كُلِّ مَسجِدٍ وَادعوهُ مُخلِصينَ لَهُ الدّينَ ۚ كَما بَدَأَكُم تَعودونَ٢٩
Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord has ordered justice and that you maintain yourselves [in worship of Him] at every place [or time] of prostration, and invoke Him, sincere to Him in religion." Just as He originated you, you will return [to life]
بَل إِيّاهُ تَدعونَ فَيَكشِفُ ما تَدعونَ إِلَيهِ إِن شاءَ وَتَنسَونَ ما تُشرِكونَ٤١
No, it is Him [alone] you would invoke, and He would remove that for which you invoked Him if He willed, and you would forget what you associate [with Him]
وَلا تَدعُ مِن دونِ اللَّهِ ما لا يَنفَعُكَ وَلا يَضُرُّكَ ۖ فَإِن فَعَلتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذًا مِنَ الظّٰلِمينَ١٠٦
And do not invoke besides Allah that which neither benefits you nor harms you, for if you did, then indeed you would be of the wrongdoers
وَقالَ الرَّسولُ يٰرَبِّ إِنَّ قَومِى اتَّخَذوا هٰذَا القُرءانَ مَهجورًا٣٠
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned
وَلَمّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلقاءَ مَديَنَ قالَ عَسىٰ رَبّى أَن يَهدِيَنى سَواءَ السَّبيلِ٢٢
And when he directed himself toward Madyan, he said, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the sound way
وَقالَ الَّذينَ فِى النّارِ لِخَزَنَةِ جَهَنَّمَ ادعوا رَبَّكُم يُخَفِّف عَنّا يَومًا مِنَ العَذابِ٤٩
And those in the Fire will say to the keepers of Hell, "Supplicate your Lord to lighten for us a day from the punishment
