وَإِذا جاءوكُم قالوا ءامَنّا وَقَد دَخَلوا بِالكُفرِ وَهُم قَد خَرَجوا بِهِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ أَعلَمُ بِما كانوا يَكتُمونَ٦١
And when they come to you, they say, "We believe." But they have entered with disbelief [in their hearts], and they have certainly left with it. And Allah is most knowing of what they were concealing
وَلَو أَنَّ أَهلَ الكِتٰبِ ءامَنوا وَاتَّقَوا لَكَفَّرنا عَنهُم سَيِّـٔاتِهِم وَلَأَدخَلنٰهُم جَنّٰتِ النَّعيمِ٦٥
And if only the People of the Scripture had believed and feared Allah, We would have removed from them their misdeeds and admitted them to Gardens of Pleasure
وَما لَنا لا نُؤمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَما جاءَنا مِنَ الحَقِّ وَنَطمَعُ أَن يُدخِلَنا رَبُّنا مَعَ القَومِ الصّٰلِحينَ٨٤
And why should we not believe in Allah and what has come to us of the truth? And we aspire that our Lord will admit us [to Paradise] with the righteous people
قالوا نُريدُ أَن نَأكُلَ مِنها وَتَطمَئِنَّ قُلوبُنا وَنَعلَمَ أَن قَد صَدَقتَنا وَنَكونَ عَلَيها مِنَ الشّٰهِدينَ١١٣
They said, "We wish to eat from it and let our hearts be reassured and know that you have been truthful to us and be among its witnesses
وَمِنهُم مَن يَستَمِعُ إِلَيكَ ۖ وَجَعَلنا عَلىٰ قُلوبِهِم أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفقَهوهُ وَفى ءاذانِهِم وَقرًا ۚ وَإِن يَرَوا كُلَّ ءايَةٍ لا يُؤمِنوا بِها ۚ حَتّىٰ إِذا جاءوكَ يُجٰدِلونَكَ يَقولُ الَّذينَ كَفَروا إِن هٰذا إِلّا أَسٰطيرُ الأَوَّلينَ٢٥
And among them are those who listen to you, but We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. Even when they come to you arguing with you, those who disbelieve say, "This is not but legends of the former peoples
الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَلَم يَلبِسوا إيمٰنَهُم بِظُلمٍ أُولٰئِكَ لَهُمُ الأَمنُ وَهُم مُهتَدونَ٨٢
They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice - those will have security, and they are [rightly] guided
وَنُقَلِّبُ أَفـِٔدَتَهُم وَأَبصٰرَهُم كَما لَم يُؤمِنوا بِهِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَنَذَرُهُم فى طُغيٰنِهِم يَعمَهونَ١١٠
And We will turn away their hearts and their eyes just as they refused to believe in it the first time. And We will leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly
كِتٰبٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيكَ فَلا يَكُن فى صَدرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِنهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِ وَذِكرىٰ لِلمُؤمِنينَ٢
[This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers
أُولٰئِكَ هُمُ المُؤمِنونَ حَقًّا ۚ لَهُم دَرَجٰتٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِم وَمَغفِرَةٌ وَرِزقٌ كَريمٌ٤
Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees [of high position] with their Lord and forgiveness and noble provision
إِنَّما يَستَـٔذِنُكَ الَّذينَ لا يُؤمِنونَ بِاللَّهِ وَاليَومِ الءاخِرِ وَارتابَت قُلوبُهُم فَهُم فى رَيبِهِم يَتَرَدَّدونَ٤٥
Only those would ask permission of you who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and whose hearts have doubted, and they, in their doubt, are hesitating
