وَمِنَ النّاسِ مَن يَقولُ ءامَنّا بِاللَّهِ وَبِاليَومِ الءاخِرِ وَما هُم بِمُؤمِنينَ٨
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah and the Last Day," but they are not believers
يُخٰدِعونَ اللَّهَ وَالَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَما يَخدَعونَ إِلّا أَنفُسَهُم وَما يَشعُرونَ٩
They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not
فى قُلوبِهِم مَرَضٌ فَزادَهُمُ اللَّهُ مَرَضًا ۖ وَلَهُم عَذابٌ أَليمٌ بِما كانوا يَكذِبونَ١٠
In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie
وَإِذا لَقُوا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا قالوا ءامَنّا وَإِذا خَلَوا إِلىٰ شَيٰطينِهِم قالوا إِنّا مَعَكُم إِنَّما نَحنُ مُستَهزِءونَ١٤
And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers
وَالَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ أُولٰئِكَ أَصحٰبُ الجَنَّةِ ۖ هُم فيها خٰلِدونَ٨٢
But they who believe and do righteous deeds - those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally
وَقالوا قُلوبُنا غُلفٌ ۚ بَل لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِكُفرِهِم فَقَليلًا ما يُؤمِنونَ٨٨
And they said, "Our hearts are wrapped." But, [in fact], Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so little is it that they believe
وَلَو أَنَّهُم ءامَنوا وَاتَّقَوا لَمَثوبَةٌ مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ خَيرٌ ۖ لَو كانوا يَعلَمونَ١٠٣
And if they had believed and feared Allah, then the reward from Allah would have been [far] better, if they only knew
الَّذينَ يَقولونَ رَبَّنا إِنَّنا ءامَنّا فَاغفِر لَنا ذُنوبَنا وَقِنا عَذابَ النّارِ١٦
Those who say, "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire
وَأَمَّا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ فَيُوَفّيهِم أُجورَهُم ۗ وَاللَّهُ لا يُحِبُّ الظّٰلِمينَ٥٧
But as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their rewards, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers
يُؤمِنونَ بِاللَّهِ وَاليَومِ الءاخِرِ وَيَأمُرونَ بِالمَعروفِ وَيَنهَونَ عَنِ المُنكَرِ وَيُسٰرِعونَ فِى الخَيرٰتِ وَأُولٰئِكَ مِنَ الصّٰلِحينَ١١٤
They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous
