الشَّهِيدُ٤٧
The Witness — He is ever-present and testifies to all
الْمُحْصِي٢٩
The Accounter — He numbers everything precisely
الْمُؤَخِّرُ٦١
The Delayer — He delays what He wills in perfect wisdom
Indeed, the closest a servant is to his Lord is when he is in prostration, so make much supplication [then].
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ١٥٣
O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.
إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي١٤
Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.
إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَلَذِكْرُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ٤٥
Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater.
حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَىٰ وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ٢٣٨
Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before Allah, devoutly obedient.
The first matter a servant will be called to account for on the Day of Judgment is the prayer. If it is sound, the rest of his deeds will be sound.
