الَّذينَ يَستَحِبّونَ الحَيوٰةَ الدُّنيا عَلَى الءاخِرَةِ وَيَصُدّونَ عَن سَبيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبغونَها عِوَجًا ۚ أُولٰئِكَ فى ضَلٰلٍ بَعيدٍ٣
The ones who prefer the worldly life over the Hereafter and avert [people] from the way of Allah, seeking to make it (seem) deviant. Those are in extreme error
ذٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ استَحَبُّوا الحَيوٰةَ الدُّنيا عَلَى الءاخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَهدِى القَومَ الكٰفِرينَ١٠٧
That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people
انظُر كَيفَ فَضَّلنا بَعضَهُم عَلىٰ بَعضٍ ۚ وَلَلءاخِرَةُ أَكبَرُ دَرَجٰتٍ وَأَكبَرُ تَفضيلًا٢١
Look how We have favored [in provision] some of them over others. But the Hereafter is greater in degrees [of difference] and greater in distinction
يَعلَمونَ ظٰهِرًا مِنَ الحَيوٰةِ الدُّنيا وَهُم عَنِ الءاخِرَةِ هُم غٰفِلونَ٧
They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware
وَزُخرُفًا ۚ وَإِن كُلُّ ذٰلِكَ لَمّا مَتٰعُ الحَيوٰةِ الدُّنيا ۚ وَالءاخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلمُتَّقينَ٣٥
And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous
يٰأَيُّهَا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا ما لَكُم إِذا قيلَ لَكُمُ انفِروا فى سَبيلِ اللَّهِ اثّاقَلتُم إِلَى الأَرضِ ۚ أَرَضيتُم بِالحَيوٰةِ الدُّنيا مِنَ الءاخِرَةِ ۚ فَما مَتٰعُ الحَيوٰةِ الدُّنيا فِى الءاخِرَةِ إِلّا قَليلٌ٣٨
O you who have believed, what is [the matter] with you that, when you are told to go forth in the cause of Allah, you adhere heavily to the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But what is the enjoyment of worldly life compared to the Hereafter except a [very] little
اللَّهُ يَبسُطُ الرِّزقَ لِمَن يَشاءُ وَيَقدِرُ ۚ وَفَرِحوا بِالحَيوٰةِ الدُّنيا وَمَا الحَيوٰةُ الدُّنيا فِى الءاخِرَةِ إِلّا مَتٰعٌ٢٦
Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment
اعلَموا أَنَّمَا الحَيوٰةُ الدُّنيا لَعِبٌ وَلَهوٌ وَزينَةٌ وَتَفاخُرٌ بَينَكُم وَتَكاثُرٌ فِى الأَموٰلِ وَالأَولٰدِ ۖ كَمَثَلِ غَيثٍ أَعجَبَ الكُفّارَ نَباتُهُ ثُمَّ يَهيجُ فَتَرىٰهُ مُصفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَكونُ حُطٰمًا ۖ وَفِى الءاخِرَةِ عَذابٌ شَديدٌ وَمَغفِرَةٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضوٰنٌ ۚ وَمَا الحَيوٰةُ الدُّنيا إِلّا مَتٰعُ الغُرورِ٢٠
Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion
زُيِّنَ لِلَّذينَ كَفَرُوا الحَيوٰةُ الدُّنيا وَيَسخَرونَ مِنَ الَّذينَ ءامَنوا ۘ وَالَّذينَ اتَّقَوا فَوقَهُم يَومَ القِيٰمَةِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَرزُقُ مَن يَشاءُ بِغَيرِ حِسابٍ٢١٢
Beautified for those who disbelieve is the life of this world, and they ridicule those who believe. But those who fear Allah are above them on the Day of Resurrection. And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without account
۞ وَقيلَ لِلَّذينَ اتَّقَوا ماذا أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُم ۚ قالوا خَيرًا ۗ لِلَّذينَ أَحسَنوا فى هٰذِهِ الدُّنيا حَسَنَةٌ ۚ وَلَدارُ الءاخِرَةِ خَيرٌ ۚ وَلَنِعمَ دارُ المُتَّقينَ٣٠
And it will be said to those who feared Allah, "What did your Lord send down?" They will say, "[That which is] good." For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous
