وَجاءَت سَكرَةُ المَوتِ بِالحَقِّ ۖ ذٰلِكَ ما كُنتَ مِنهُ تَحيدُ١٩
And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid
يَومَ يَسمَعونَ الصَّيحَةَ بِالحَقِّ ۚ ذٰلِكَ يَومُ الخُروجِ٤٢
The Day they will hear the blast [of the Horn] in truth. That is the Day of Emergence [from the graves]
إِنّا نَحنُ نُحيۦ وَنُميتُ وَإِلَينَا المَصيرُ٤٣
Indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and to Us is the destination
وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَماتَ وَأَحيا٤٤
And that it is He who causes death and gives life
خُشَّعًا أَبصٰرُهُم يَخرُجونَ مِنَ الأَجداثِ كَأَنَّهُم جَرادٌ مُنتَشِرٌ٧
Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading
نَحنُ قَدَّرنا بَينَكُمُ المَوتَ وَما نَحنُ بِمَسبوقينَ٦٠
We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone
فَلَولا إِذا بَلَغَتِ الحُلقومَ٨٣
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat
فَأَمّا إِن كانَ مِنَ المُقَرَّبينَ٨٨
And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah
إِلّا مَوتَتَنَا الأولىٰ وَما نَحنُ بِمُعَذَّبينَ٥٩
Except for our first death, and we will not be punished
يٰلَيتَها كانَتِ القاضِيَةَ٢٧
I wish my death had been the decisive one
